Michael Washburn is a public affairs executive with over two decades of experience, including work on ESG trends, land conservation advocacy, lobbying, and campaign strategy. He is a talented consensus-builder with proven credentials as a listening leader. Michael is respectful and alert to the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in stakeholder processes. He is a trusted consultant to global brands, NGOs, charitable foundations, and government. Michael has a strong cross-sector understanding resulting from leadership experience in academic, corporate, and non-profit settings. Michael has been an Eagle Scout since 1984, he is a fifth-generation Adirondack Guide, and a father of four.

    Research Associate Jess Jones is interested in land stewardship and equity. She trained in ecosystem conservation and management at Yale School of the Environment, graduating in 2023. Her expertise in the ecological and social dimensions of forest systems reflects her cross-disciplinary thinking. She enjoys connecting herself and others with nature, as demonstrated in her skillful writing, research, and community-building efforts.

    Rowan Sharkey is a Masters of Environmental Management candidate at Yale School of the Environment, focusing specifically on ecosystem management and conservation. Having received degrees in Data Analytics and Environmental Studies, her interest lies in environmental data analysis, storytelling, and communication. While the data world allows Rowan to gain insight into all environmental spheres, her primary interest lies in food systems and nutrition accessibility on the international scale. She holds a deep connection to the land and works towards understanding best management and restoration practices to further the effort against global climate change.
